UFC ANNOUNCES RETURN TO LOUISVILLE, FIRST EVENT IN 13 YEARS

The UFC is making its return to Lousiville, Ky., the promotion announced on Wednesday.

It will be the second time in UFC history that the promotion will hold a fight card in the derby city, the only other time coming in 2011 for UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann.

A June 8 date is penciled in for the event at the KFC Yum! Center, a venue typically used to host the Louisville men’s and women’s basketball teams.

On June 7, the WWE will be in town and making use of the venue before its TKO Group partner takes over and turns the ring into an octagon the next day.

Details on the card, such as a main event bout, have yet to be announced by the UFC. Given the fact that June 8 falls right between UFC 302 and 303 on the schedule, MMA fans can expect it to be a Fight Night card.
